Basic Requirements:
– Must be 21+
– Legal United States resident
– Web training requires ability to be on a webcam and be able to access and follow along with training material provided in a PDF document. We will be using the Zoom platform w/webcam.

 

Stratus Defense is a big advocate when it comes to families being prepared to protect themselves. We want to share our expert knowledge and experience with every day carriers, protectors, and families.

Virginia is an open carry state that allows people to openly carry a firearm without a permit so long as they are legally doing so. That comes with a lot of restrictions as to  where within certain cities, certain firearms magazine capacities, etc. Many of those restrictions are lifted for concealed carry permit holders.

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • Civil/criminal liability
  • Virginia firearms laws
  • Marksmanship fundamentals
  • Use of force

Stratus Defense is a Virginia Dept. of Criminal Justice Services certified training school and this class is taught by an instructor who is a DCJS Firearms Instructor, NRA Firearms Instructor, Maryland State Police HQL Instructor, D.C. Special Police Instructor, and Personal Protection Specialist who is a career Executive Protection Agent that protects VIPs domestically and internationally.

In-Class Materials:
– Appropriate dress for an indoor shooting range. No open toe shoes.
– Pen, highlighter, and notepad.
– An open mind.
– Bring the firearm you intend to carry if you own one.
– 50-100 rounds of ammunition (our handguns are 9mm)
– Range fee $15
– Handgun rental $10
